Does anyone give their dogs extra supplements in the winter aswel as the normal food?

A good mixed diet and lots of work is all your lurcher will need mate. Years ago i experimented with a load of supplements but none had any effect , as far as i could see.

Problem being is that some vitamins need other vitamins to work in the body so by adding one vitamin you may cause a deficiency of another,.

okay cheers lads

im thinking about giving it some of this greyhound stuff which increases the red blood cells and makes the dog recieve more oxygen to the muscles to make them run longer for better just wat a saluki needs when having long runs??

if the stuff you are thinking of giving your dog does what you say it does i wouldnt give it to a unfit dog as it will most prabably do him more harm than good, a fit dog might be able to handle it but personally i wouldnt bother.

A good, solid feeding regime, along with proper condisioning, and plenty of work with ample time to recover is all that you should need, for any performance athlete. Supplements are pointless unless EVERYTHING else is nailed down...see plenty of lads at Gyms wanting the next "miracle-muscle-grower" when they 'aint even feeding themselves properly, and drink 10 beers a week!..lol.
