never had a problem mate,mine adore the kids and when were camping the bullx always chooses the girls bedroom to kip in,its how you bring em up mate mine wouldnt harm any of my family,she will protect em tho

and as for other dogs mine just wants to run around the field playing with em at 100mph acting the prick

nope :laugh: a westie started trying to feck about with my old bedo cross yesterday. the old gal was off the lead and trying to get away from it but it still wouldnt f**k off back to its owner and kept jumping all over her so i slyly dropped my young bull crosses lead and the twating thing never knew what hit it :laugh: soon fecked of with its tail between its legs :laugh:

Should be fine with kids if it's brought up OK and the kids are taught to respect the dog.

 

One thing that never gets mentioned in these threads is the size of the dog. The most placid and kid friendly dog in the world can still be a danger to kids by accidentally knocking them over and into things, especially with younger kids. Another reason not to leave kids alone with large dogs, no matter how docile they are.

Don't agree with that one bit. A child friendly dog should move away from the kids if it's had enough, and shouldn't ever be in a position where it can't do so.

I agree with you 100%, I would never leave either of my dogs unattended with my kids.

A kid only gets one life and one chance and it could be the first time you pop out of the room and bang the kid could be gone.

No dog is to be trusted 100% and most bullx's would easily get their whole mouth round a kids head never mind the neck. Big hardcore working bullx's should really be kept locked in the kennels away from the kids. I have had 4-5 repetative bites off a bull grey wippet on my hand through sorting out a kennel fight and i was a mess, it compares to a shotgun accidently going off but for the kid its the face that gets it.

well in my eyes the risk should,nt be taken anyway,if anything did happen a could,t live with my self ,peace of mind ,do,nt get me wrong it not like a don,t leave my kids alone with my dogs a do all the time ,and as for this topic been bout leaving your kids alone with bullx any dog ,any breed ,any age could all do the same damage ,so i don,t think it fair singleing bullx out Edited October 18, 2010 by deerhound hunter

if brought up proper with dogs+kids, they are brill with them. Never had any probs with bullxs, had pure bitch she was soft as shit with kids,and good with other dogs.Its only if you (dont)socialise them you could have a prob,but that with any powerful dog, but i would (never) leave any dog with a child unless there was a adult there.

I would go so far as to say its not the dog but the owners fault when a dog attacks a child,whether it be the time of the attack or in its upbringing, some short cut has been taken to allow the attack.

my bull cross pup is 8 n half month now and i never had a dog as much as soft shite as him hes that soft u think he would be able to his job lol but its the best way to have them
