caught in the rain !!

hi there im after sum advice.

last outing with the rilfe i got caught in the rain and now i have pulled my gun out to find that the barrel has small rust patches on and also the nuts on my scope mounts.

what is the best way of removeing this ?

Give it a bit of a rub down nothing abrasive though just a good hard rub if its very small spots.

The give it a wipe with a lightly oiled rag

 

Next time give it a dry down and another wipe with the oily rag

 

And that reminds me, I must practice what I preach, now wheres my oily rag

every time i go out 1st thing i do when i get in is oily cloth give it a quick rub down

then it gets a good wd40 wash (just the outside) metal work then it goes straight in the bag ....ive dine this for years now and it keep my guns in good order
