Anyone interested in grey partridge conservation (and shooting of course)

Recommended Posts

I run a game shoot consultancy business and have recently had a huge spate of clients asking me to help the grey partridge numbers on their shoot, I take a huge interest in grey partridge, from conservation to shooting to eating! and have decided to create a bit of a 'how to' site based around them. Im just looking for a little bit of feedback on the site, so if anyones interested in taking a look you can find it at http://greypartridge.info if you do have a look please get back to me and let me know what you think, cheers lads and lasses.

Space ,you need space to get a decent viable population of managed rather than stocked greys , Thousands of undisturbed acres.

one of the shoots i pick up on is running a tagging scheme

not to sure how it is run yet.

various keepers around the area are ringing there grey partridge, the rings are coloured and have a keepers phone number on,when birds are picked on shoots keepers ring each other and that way they know how far the birds are traveling.

on thursday i picked 3 greys 1 blue ring, 1 yellow ring, and 1 with no ring, not sure if the one with on ring had fallen off or if it was a wild bird.

Hi Ryan,

Just had a quick look at your site.... will have a longer read when I have more time. Looks good. Am interested in doing some conservation work for the grey partridge, albeit on a small scale, am at western end of Stirling carse and am doing my research/homework at the moment so this is very usefull to me.

Regards.
