morning walk with dogs turns up plenty of fungi

Brill thread

Love the puffballs sweet as owt and the shaggy inkcaps :toast:

Had a bite of a dry panther cap years ago not an experience id recommend anyone trying. :whistling:

Ive had a few mushroom books but they are all a bit inconclusive as a lot of species arent listed ive struggled loads in identifying different types so just stick to the good edibles that cant be confused with any others .

 safe DD thought you would have clocked them tried more than a few books at the library and couldnt find anything for definite but they smell spot on and the only lads i know that eats them are the in the next village old boys now thats the thing with fungi theres so many different varietys i bet some arent covered in books i know of one magic variety thats not for definite and one of the best so im told :icon_eek: i swear also theres two types of wood blewstalk one that grown speciffically in nettle beds and very easy to confuse with a very poisonous type when wet that often grows alongside.

Cheers for the info m.hubbard shall have a google myself and give them shaggys a go atb.

The old boys go mad for blewitts round here, the Wifes grandad got a bag from the pub the other week and looking through them he said there not all blewitts theres some morells but like you said they look nothing like them!

Im going back to the spot for some ferreting friday so what i'll do is get some more and swap a couple rabbits for a bag of blewitts off the man and compare.

Regards Seany
