when will he settle down

Recommended Posts

I have 2 hob ferrets . 1 is 18 mth and is proving to be a good little worker. The other is around 9-10 mnths and all he wanst to do is play. I have yet to have him out working but a little reluctant until he settles a little bit. Perhaps I am being a little cautious? Should I wait a few more months and see if he matures a little or get him out and get a morning work under his belt?

Thx

If the other ferret gets on with him why not try entering them together.

If not just keep trying him in the odd small set the penny should eventually drop when he bumps into a rabbit.

As with most things , some ferrets just take longer to mature than others

Patience and time is all thats required

Or maybe not , unfortunaitly not all ferrets make the grade, depends what your after in a working ferret hard as itis ,

I have two exceptional workers on my team so the bar has been set high this year but that's just me

I would agree with most of has been. Just suck it and see. Ferrets are like any other living creature they mature at different rates. All ferrets will work, it just depends on how patient you are not how slow the ferret is to pick up what is required of them.

David the thing is there's a diference between bolting the odd rabbit and clearing out a warren

ITS A GOOD START

some of the best ferrets come on a bit later.

One or two some times never make the grade.

I think i would give it more time
