skycat 6,173
Wedge a small piece of cotton wool around the stump of dew claw which is left, make sure that you get some cotton wool between the claw and the leg to stop it pressing into the leg when you bandage it. I would use Elastoplast Fabric Strapping, sticks well to fur. Do it tight but not too tight: don't want to cut off the circulation. This sort of Elastoplast is stretchy but don't stretch it mega tight: just enough to stay on well: make sure that the visible end is on the front of the leg, and stick it down to the rest of the Elastoplast with a couple of tiny blobs of Superglue so it doesn't come undone when running. A bit of hot water will soften it enough to undo it when you've finished running the dog: and obviously don't leave it on when the dog gets home: sorry, shouldn't have to say that, but I've seen idiots leave plaster in place then wonder why their dog is nagging at its leg!
