i have nothing [bANNED TEXT] so ever against saluki's but i cant see the point in having pures when purpous bred dogs are better jmo

 

 

Your oppinion is right, mate; in this country, a well bred Saluki hybid will beat a Pure Saluki every time ! But there is ALLWAYS the need for well bred pure salukis to add to the blood of the best working strains of hare dogs !

to any young lads thinking of buying a saluki instead of a coursing dog ill give u some facts 1 in every 100 coursing dogs make it into something special. salukis 1 in every 10000

Not wanting to argue, mate, but there is obviously times when you must "outcross", when the blood gets to close. You can trace the top coursing dogs back to a few dogs, so you MUST bring in new blood, or stagnate ! You can use the best Greyhounds or the best Salukis. The Greyhounds have been, and allways will be, bred for speed; the salukis in this country are by and large, bred for show, so if you want top Saluki blood, it must be brought in ! Just my oppinion, and a good discussion !

line breeding is the way i just cant fihure it out why you have to put something that hasnt been tested back to a bitch that has or vice versa

how far u have to go to find a pure saluki in that bitch, i think all that hybrid vigour talk is a load of bollox meself put best to best and see if they click and they not always do, if everyone knew how to breed great dogs none of us would have a bad un.

You can only go so far with line breeding until you have to use an outcross,id only use a tested cross though.

well it proves that a good bitch can be produced from best to best breeding and not need sire or dam to be pure

Pure what ?? Read my replies... I have always said that the "saluki Hybrid" will beat a "Pure Saluki" every time!! And I'll stand by that !
