lietome 138 Posted October 14, 2010 Report Share Posted October 14, 2010 im splitting up with the missus,problem is i have maybe 2 grand in the bank and when i move out of here i'll be moving far away nearer to my family (couldnt afford to rent around here even if i wanted) so wont be able to keep my job and im not sure i'll be able to provide for myself. now that in itself is'nt the problem the problem is i have 2 lurchers who the now ex says cannot stay with her until im sorted,they're not going to be re-homed to anyone i dont know and i dont know anyone who cant take them,ideally i want to keep them but i dont know how it would be possible.anyone been through similar and managed to find a way to keep their dogs? sorry if this doesnt make any sense my minds still racing from trying to get other shit sorted keep the dogs mate i went through the same thing i was gutted she took one of the dogs with her but lucky i could keep the rest Quote Link to post Share on other sites

lurcher lass 9 Posted October 14, 2010 Report Share Posted October 14, 2010 you'll be surprised what you can get away with,,, about 3 year ago i had similar problem, one dog stayed with a friend ( who sadly ended up keeping her, as she settled in well by the time i was sorted,, shame lost a good dog there) my lurcher stayed with me, i decided i needed at least one dog with me no matter what! i put adverts up at news agents asking for a room to let stating i do have a dog, but will keep the place spotless and inviting them to meet the dog etc within 4 days i had 8 offers, and this was in a village area not a big town,, and as someone else has put the dog kept me sane, and was there when i cried or when i needed to walk off some anger during a very testing time, keep people close but your dog closer!! wish you all the very best mate and i hope this helps, Quote Link to post Share on other sites
