To be fair though, they are legally obliged to fix it within warranty. So it's not really relevant.

Real customer service comes afterwards...

Do they want to know you?

Do they care?

No nitpicking mate, just my opinion

FTB

Picked up a D22 around 4 years ago and thankfully all is still well with only one minor MOT failure! it had done around 85,000 when I got it and now on around 110,000..

there was a site I looked on Navara.net that scared the shit out of me showing many motors all going bang for the same reason! seems there's definitely a fault but Nissan for some reason won't do a recall or recognise it . a lad had one on this estate on the same plate as mine with just over 70k on the clock and his also went pop...

Just seems weired why some of the same age do it and other's cruise on faultless.....

Them D40's are not much better i know of 3 people who have had trouble with them,1st one was a farmer where i had permission he kept having clutch problems 3 times it went back to be repared in the space of a month he changed the vehicle for another model,2nd one is a lad i know who is a builder he tows a trailer with his D40 he has gone through 2 clutches and i dont think it has hit the 60k mark yet,3rd is a lad i know who does a bit of offroading he got stuck in a field one day and the back diff went.

The problems with the timing chains stem from oil pressure - hence the need for servicing.

When you start a Navara up (D22) the timing chain is tensioned via a spring, after startup the oil pressure takes over.

Needless to say, if you've got sh1t oil & a knackered spring then it's f*cked.
