mikeyblue 28
Hi All, It was my first outing after the bunnys in a while this morning. I arrived at my cricket club permission at just after 0730hrs. Took my TX200hc and checked zero before starting on a slow stalk around the perimeter of the shoot. There is a short hedge line that borders the club and some residential gardens where some of the rabbit burys are set, so I lay up at my zero range of 30m and waited. It didnt take long for a young 3/4 grown to make an appearance. I centered the cross hair on the sweetspot, squeezed through the second stage, followed the shot through watching as my AA Field hit its mark, the bunny toppled and with a stretch and a shake of its hind legs it lay stone dead. I have been quite surprised at how many young I have on my permissions at the minute. Some of the does are still carrying also!! As I broke cover to retrieve my kill a movement on the outfield caught my eye. It was another bugs at about 50m. To far for me so I crawled slowly on my belly, and reduced the range to just under 40m. Lying in the prone position, I had an ultra steady sight picture. I gave the shot a mildot over and one windage as their was a steady breeze in the open. Released the shot and watched bugs do a backflip that any gymnast in the Commenwealth Games would be proud of! I must say Im really enjoying my shooting at the minute. For the last few months I have being shooting some HFT courses on Sundays and it really has honed my marksmanship. Kind regards and keep it up lads, I love reading write ups of your outings. Mikeyblue. 1 Quote Link to post

Phantom 631
I have been quite surprised at how many young I have on my permissions at the minute. Some of the does are still carrying also!! I love reading write ups of your outings. Mikeyblue. Well done Mike I thoroughly enjoyed your write up as well As you say, there are quite a lot of Doe's at the moment that are pregnant I dropped a young Doe in the Cemetery last week, she had 5 yery young ones inside. Still six for the price of one I won't complain The weather at the moment is still pretty warm and bunnies are able to breed all year round, but they tend to breed less when the weather is very poor and food is in short supply. All the best Phantom Quote Link to post
mikeyblue 28
Cheers Lads, Festa, will sought some pics mate next time im out. Im quite spoilt for permission really so will get some decent pics up to show you all. Phantom, I agree mate its still warmish, I reckon after the first ground frost there wont be much mating going on. Im just waiting for the cover to die back a bit before running my two young jills through the sets. Hit the bunnys hard!! If any of the lads on here fancy a trip to the Peak District for a spot of shooting let me know! Would be great to put names to faces. I have loads of permission for air-gunning and ferreting. Open invite!! Kind Regards, Mikeyblue. Quote Link to post
