Anti bark collars

Recommended Posts

I have a dog her barks like Billy oh for no apparent reason well it had a reason it's a nut case lol some lads swear by the anti bark collard but me personally I'm not sure it's a similar size as the bellman collar and I'm thinking the young dog could think it is the same shock collar and not know wether it's coming or going constantly thinking if it barks it will get a shock therefore a potential bayer could become mute just sitting there looking at the game in silence please don't think I'm losing the head with stupid comments I have done my fair share of digging some dogs won't bay and will mix bur some will only bay but If from a young age they have had the bark collar on will they still bay. At work with an almost identical type of collar on your thoughts or experiences will be good on this cheers myself personally I think I'll settle with the noisy dog they soon settle down with work

chezney is correct.. some dogs on shoot days have electric collars on for various reasons and know when the collar isnt on.this is why dummy collars are manufactured..

as long as the anti bark collar isnt on when they are working  ,it should not hinder them baying.

i have two dogs in my kennals which have shocker collers on all the time , they no when the coller is on as they are quite, but forget to put them on an they screem the place down the basterds, i have no prob when out in the feild, as they no the difrance with the collers as for usein the belman an flint ther is no 2 prongs sticking in to ther neck, so in my mind they dont think ther gonna get shock , alb

So if you use a dummy collar to make the dog think it is wearing the shock collar surely bellman could be mistaken for one

No mate, the collar will feel different, an anti bark has two "probes" which sit on the throat to detect vibration, the dog isn't stupid and will know the difference

Which,as i said is why the manufactures also make the dummy model.

My red dog wore one for a bit Fell,he was a c**t for his high pitched yelp,a couple of days with the collar sorted it.Dont worry about the B+F,the shock collar emits a warning alarm when the dog barks, then if it barks again within 30secs or so it gets a shock, the dog soon learns that the alarm means trouble, thats how the dummy collars work, they have alarm but no shock.Usually once the habit of barking has been broken there's no need for a collar at all.
