runforyourlife 361
Hi all, had a very enjoyable day out yesterday, on some very good ground. A good friend of mine has found yet some more good hunting land for us.(for the full season) and we were pretty keen to get out there and have a scratch at the surface... We arrived at first light, got the dogs out and mooched the new area. To mooch it all would take a week!! As the sun came out and the skies turned blue, we decided it was time to get the ferrets out and rest the dogs, as they had had plenty of tough but enjoyable runs..../ Only had to dig 4 times all day. It is much easier than we are used to(meaning, netting up,and no massive hills to climb!). The rabbits however are very tough, stubburn, and took some moving. What we did notice was, that there was no 3/4 grown or any young.. These rabbits must have survived mixi, and were all fat big healthy rabbits.... As the day went on and we pushed on further into the land, we started to realise just how many rabbits there are! And what a good bit of land we have to go at..To work 100 to 200yrds will take you most of the day! And thank god for the 100%er marking dog, lol.. It was such an enjoyable day, and lovely to be out ferreting while enjoying the warm october sunshine, plesant surrounding and good company... 1 Quote Link to post
