Has anyone had a dog that has/had 'blown' itself. How did it happen, what were the symptoms and what exactly does this mean in terms of biology other than 'f****d itself permanently running too hard'?

Cheers,

Jai.

Several reasons for a blown lurcher ,the most commen is ruptured or torn diaphram. This can remedy itself but needs patience .The most serious is heart strain which never goes and renders the dog useless .Overmatching ,overuse and early starting all contribute to the causes .A dog in such a way will try hard but never really attains full speed and will only be good for very short bouts of excercise .Best avoided in the first place mate .
