Squirrel meat

Have any of you ever fed squirrel meat to your ferrets before? I'm aware us humans can eat it and apparently its an up and coming meat.

But what about feeding the odd one to our ferrets?

Yes someone else told me the same, they even said dont bother gutting it but you must have to gut it don't ya?

No chuck it in whole, I do it with rabbits aswell.

I rarely gut anything that are fed to the ferrets, I do piss them though and sometimes make an insert into the stomach so it is easier for the ferts to get stuck in.

 

At the end of the day in the wild they won't be gutted for them so I try and keep it as natural as possible.

I don't think the ferrets will mind, mine haven't ever had a problem with it and I am sure no others have, they aren't like humans, they aren't picky and will eat any meat in any way.

I take the tails off and give them to guys that tie there own flies for fishing open them up and put them into the ferrets . As I'm typing this I'm looking at my thumb nail i caught it in a body gripper taking a squirrel out it five weeks ago and the bruise is still there ,my ferrets don't appreciate what i got threw to get them some squirrell
