danny dolman 4
im 17 from the north east and have a large , very strong jack russell that is 110% on all quarry . Im looking for an experienced digging partner somewhere close to the north east as my dog will go to ground but never stay in longer than 5 minutes , maybe its because hes too big , maybe its just beause hes never seen charlie to ground only on top. I think with an experienced diggin dog he could learn what to do and maybe i'll get better results ATB Quote Link to post

Hepher 86
SO WHAT ABOUT DOGS THAT SELF ENTER, STAY AND ARE DUG TO? EITHER THE DOG HAS THE INSTINCT AND THE WORKING GENES TO GO INTO THE DARK AND STAY THERE FACE IT'S FOE OR IT DOESN'T. ANY DOG WILL RAG SOMETHING ABOVE GROUND, IT'S WORKING IT'S QUARRY IN THE DARK THAT COUNTS. A PROFESSOR COULD TEACH YOU ROCKET SCIENCE BUT THAT DON'T MEAN THAT YOU WILL BE ANY GOOD AT IT?? 1 Quote Link to post

Its either poor at finding or its lacking bottle. And if its finding the dogs gotta learn that himsellf not rely on another dog to do it for him. I'll be honest to say ive got russel dog now that would lay in and hold anything on top. Started him off after christmas last year stay 5-10 min and then come off it. Working below and working above are 2 very different games. He did that 4-5 times end of last season. Ive given it the summer to give it a bit of time and now ill be taking him out tommoro. He's just turned three years of age. Well he will either go 2moro or not, its in his hands now. Thats the way it is sometimes, but its getting the chance. Quote Link to post
