matty73 4
everyone talking about right dog for job but what about right dog for your personality if your bit on the loud side then a timid sensetive type dog is not going to suit you and probably wont get best out of dog and on the other side if your quiet and timid a confident strong willed dog is going to lead you a song and dance taking the lead more often than not as it doesnt see you as pack leader and will test your authority any chance it gets it can be bred out of best dogs in world but if your not suited to each other temperament wise your not going to get best out of it( thats just my opinion everybody not saying its right or wrong) has anyone had dog theyve got rid of not because of poor working ability but for the fact you just never gelled with dog Quote Link to post

Collies, bulls, saluki, deerhounds ..........) all can have (sensetive) temps. So i think if you are not the calm type person, which i aint myself.I find (all) lurchers xs hard at times to train. Thats why alot get fecked up, because of (bad)handle'n. Quote Link to post

Think your right there bird, a chilled out fella will usually have a chilled out animal,,the dog can pick up the tension/ emotion in a person as quick as a flash,, which is why they've managed to be in partnership with us for so long,,two predators working together is very unusual in the natural world, unless there is a huge understanding on both sides,, Quote Link to post

Simoman 110
It is important to pick the temperament that best suits yours, I prefer a bold strong dog as I can't gel with quiet or timid dogs.......... Quote Link to post
