I think they can no longer have the nanny dog tag, that was in days long gone, when culling out bad traits was more prominent, now they are breed and breed for cash, colour and look, so there are some real scatty bulls out there. This is the main problem, all these scatty staffs etc bite out of fear which is not what the breed is supposed to be about, along with bad training and people wanting them as a status symbol. Im 21 and get dirty looks because i have a staff, nobody considers the fact that my dog is excellent with other dogs to the point were it has been bitten but just stood there. It also very good with kids, a friend with young children often visits my home and these are poorly behaved children who pull on her ears from time to time but she loves every bit of it because she enjoys being around them, like a TRUE nanny dog. There are good staffs and bull breeds out there but sadly you now struggle to find them. rant over Quote Link to post
romany52 313
All these folk who trust their dogs 100%, bare in mind that, just because you trust your dog 100%, It doesn't mean that your dog is 100% trust worthy ! Quote Link to post
Cold Ethyl 63
Some are some are not a lot of it has to do what you teach the dog.I got my little bitch at 8 months old and from the start she was excellent still is puts up with anything other peoples kids throw at her.My kids arent allowed to terrorise the dog and know not to do it.Then again ive seen and heard what happens when a not so good bull x turns and its nasty especially with a kid.I wouldnt trust any dog 100% and im lucky i dont leave my kids and the dogs alone cos the hounds follow me around the house anyway.I have to say the ones ive had through rescue and the one i have now have been brilliant Quote Link to post
