markha 99 Posted October 5, 2010 Report Share Posted October 5, 2010 Hi all, So shotgun licenses on way for me and my girl, however Im applying for FAC also, FEO says she cant have access to the 5 gun safe with no FAC, However he would be happy for me to keep firearms in same safe as shotguns if I were to put some kind of bolt fixing in the gun cabinet that a steel cable can be attached to and hence securing a firearms from being removed by my partner, obvioulsy I could just buy another gunsafe. markha 99 Posted October 5, 2010 Author Report Share Posted October 5, 2010 Thanks for that Akton, FEO was quiet specific - some kind of bolt, with an eye, or u-bolt that goes through the cabinet, through which a chain or cable can be threaded and then locking the rifles inside the gun safe. stubby 175 Posted October 5, 2010 Report Share Posted October 5, 2010 you simple need an eyebolt/rawlbolt, probably around M12 size, and a decent high speed drill the same size as the shank on the eyebolt, drill the rear of the cabinet, before fixing to the wall (through the back) then the rawlbolt will be secured in the wall, along with the other 4 fixings securing the cabinet Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Would be easier to buy a seperate cabinet 2nd hand for the shotties or a cable that can be padlocked seperate to the cabinet like a securicable.
