ps3 not reading disks

i was playing on cod and my ps3 crashed, everything just froze and now my ps3 wont read disks, well the 2 ive tried anyway does anyone know what to do

sounds like laser that reads th discs has gone ......just phone sony they tell you and if they cant fix you will get a new one even without any warranty

my mates laser went and he had to send it off to sony to be repaired cost him over a £100 to get job done

The same happened to my sons PS3, I asked them to sort it, but they said it'd cost over £100 because it was a couple of years old .

 

I bought him one of the new slim PS3's for Christmas last year, so I shall get the other one fixed when I've got the spare poke, and have it for myself

you have to send it to sony 2-5 weeks but good news the laser will never brake again

try some local game shops/yellow pages etc you can get them repaired without going through sony for usually the same price, i got mine done for 100 quid and got a guarantee with it and the guy is only a phone call away if i have any more problems and i didnt have to send it off and wait ages which is always nice lol

It happened to a mate of mine, he bought a new 1 n i took his and bought a cd/dvd cleaner and its working now, so try that before u pay out 100quid..

if its older than a year get 1 of your friends serial number whos bought 1 in the last 12 months fone sony tell them the problem within 2 days theyll send a courier with a new 1 just swap console at the door
