davedavedave 69
Hi Folks, I have been doing some mole catching on some re-seeding and my normally reliable mixture of Talpex & Talpa mole traps which work great on turf are struggle to deal with the moles as I am getting a lot of sprung traps. Therefore I tried some scissor traps too with immediate success with probably my oldest and most battered scissor trap. I remember some saying it’s good to use a mixture of traps and its good advice. Therefore I fancy getting a few new scissor traps to add to my arsenal and want to know who sells the best quality ones as I have seen a few rubbish ones. Therefore any advice welcome. Thanks, Dave. p.s. A strange think I noticed yesterday was when I was resetting a sprung Talpa trap I found a dead mole right by it (but not in the trap) as if it had been struck with a glancing blow by the Talpa which killed it. My Talpa and Talpex traps are the real deal so are very strong so this is possible. It makes me wonder if more moles are killed this way when an active set of mole hills where traps are being sprung suddenly goes quite - i.e. the mole has been accounted for but there is no corpse to prove it as the mole may have gone a little way before it dies?
