i bought a load of ebay for a £1 each, they were advertized as 100 watt but there shite compared to the original bulbs, not half as bright, from now on i'd rather give the £9 for the real thing ;)

i've had the same thing lucky(not off ebay though),thought i'd got a bargain,same as,not as bright.

HBG this ones as bright as the original, definately, the firm that supplies them is called RING and they supply the bulbs to all kinds of big names for repackaging with their own brand name, for me they can shove their 9 quid bulbs, I tried this last night and was well chuffed, they're the same G number and everything, just my opinion and it's each to their own, but I'm well happy with these, assuming they last long enough and don't blow after a couple of outings, then I might change my mind.:laugh::laugh:

maplins do them for around 50p a go i bought some for spare but gave them away, i noticed the filaments inside the bulb were situated differently in the cheap bulbs to the ones you get with your lamp.

not sure wether it makes a difference in how they light up??...

RH these are halogen, the same as the originals, it just pisses me off that these people are selling the bulbs at ridiculously high prices, when there's absolutely no need, they are relying on people thinking that they are a specialist item, when they're not.

I know 9 or 10 quid is not a lot of money, and at the end of the day, I'd happily pay a tenner for a bulb every time I went out if I had to, because that'd be a cheap nights sport without a doubt, but when the bulbs are mass produced by the 1000's for pennies, why do they have to bung so much mark up on them. I paid 80 pence for a bulb and the company will STILL be making profit on that.

I read a bit of a hoo har recently about the price of Phil Lloyds new book and people saying it was a lot of money for a paperback, well there's a lot more work gone into that book than the making of these bulbs and a lot more book for your money than a bulb at a tenner AND it's a good book, I bought a copy and flattened it in two sessions (At work when my plant was running tickety boo)

And the last replacement bulb I bought, I got from Johnsons and it was an Osram, just another run of the mill manufacturer, same G number etc. etc. so as long as these bulbs don't blow too quickly, I'll be sticking with them.

"Ring" are a good make that have been around for years. I'd be very suprised if you have a problem with this make. They have made some really good lamps at affordable prices, used them in my car rallying days in the, let me think, what century would that have been :icon_eek: .................Al
