Work them hard 339
I wouldnt let it to ground with another dog, If possible next season let it watch another terrier going to ground so it can see and hear everything it will become very interested in whats going on and soon enough will want to go to ground itself its usually not to much hassle having a couple of pups coupled up near a dig make sure when you do let it go to ground its not a really big spot a few nice easy digs to start. It should all come naturally to a terrier Edited November 23, 2010 by Work them hard Quote Link to post
.terrier man. 193
Just start taking it out on digs when its around a year old, let it have a look at the end of a few digs, keep showing him and when it wants to go (if it does) just let him get on with it, you cant say at this point as its only fukin 7 weeks lol, as the dog gets older you will no by how the dog is, you never no it could be fukin crazy and fly to ground at 8 months when your out walking it. atb butt. Attack Fell Terrier 864
cheers bud The best thing to do is to get out with other experience digging lads. Advice can sound good on here but when you're out there and you end up in a position without anyone to help you out it could mean you end up with a dead dog. You need to know what to look out for, and what to avoid and you've got to understand that there is a possibility that you could lose your dog, if you're not prepared for that then this isn't the game for you. What ever you do, best of luck with your pup. Quote Link to post
dog fox 16
ive a 14 month old pat here mate that wont even go to ground yet ,she joins in at the end for a rag on the dead ones .and is keen through the cover at times but its a waiting game but i know she,ll come good in the end ,all dogs are different and go when there ready. no point rushing them Quote Link to post
