socks 32,253
well my first cross collie grey bitch is just a shade over 4 months now and her obedience and and recall are spot on .... she has been out with the ferrets and nets a good few times and she is nice and steady and responding well to commands ... she is just starting to mark and getting a rough idea of what the game is all about ..... so i decided that this morning would be stage 2 of her apprenticeship in the art of being an all round mooching and rabbiting dog and decided to introduce her to the art of longnetting ..... it was a grey old start to the day and very misty but the weather soon changed and the mist lifted to whgat was a nice cold morning .... after a few tangles in the net she got the jist of staying back from the mesh or jumping over it instead of trying to plow through it after the bunnies and we ended with a nice half dozen healthy rabbits ... not bad for a quick 1 1/2 hour lesson that the pup coped with well ............ A GREY OLD START TO THE DAY A NICE MARK PUP AT STAY WHILE I GET THE FERRETS READY STILL WAITING WHILE I GET MY ACT TOGETHER I CAN HEAR SOMETHING HERE MAYBE HERE THEN I CAN DEFINATELY HEAR SOMETHING DOWN HERE TOLD YOU TYPICAL COLLIE CROUCH THE END RESULT NOT BAD FOR A FIRST LESSON Edited December 19, 2006 by socks Quote Link to post
