Recommended Posts

I understand you may not have used the Mach2 round but whats your views about the rifles themselfs!!

I have looked over a SAKO at the gamefair and the only major issue i could see was the machining finish could be better!

speak up and be honest if u own one

Sako Quad .17 Mach2

Ruger M77/17 Mach2

Got 2 Quads, one .22 synthetic stock, one.17hmr in wood, both awesome on the range and in the field.

Finish on both is perfect.

Tim

They are nice mate and do comeout well on accuracy but i dissagree with the finish if they r all like the one i looked at you could see deep machining marks on the bolt face!!!! when i was a machinest i would have got my arse kicked for that !!!!

scratch the MACH2 bit i have been granted HMR for some reason!!!!!!

same applies between the RUGER and the SAKO

My tuppence worth is based on a Ruger M77 Mk1 .223 I owned. It turned out to be one of the most accurate rifles I have ever owned, that was after I.

Replaced the factory trigger, research showed that Ruger were critically aware of producing sensible triggers for fear of litigation should anyone have an accident.

Replaced the stock, it had a tactical plastic stock, which did nothing for accuracy at all.

Trued the barrel to the action, and then decided to replace the barrel.

At the same time I had the bolt and action blue printed.

I guess I should have started with "My tuppence worth is based on a Ruger M77 Mk1 .223 action I owned".

It might have been a bad rifle, who knows but I swore never to buy another Ruger rifle (10/22 aside).

So, if the option was either Ruger or Sako, it would be Sako. If the option was Sako or Rem700 , it would be Rem700.
