Should the Judges names be announced when the Lurcher, Terrier, and Whippet shows are advertised.This seems to be a dark area, most of the time this is hush hush to the show starts and the first time you see the judge is in the ring

yes. well known terriermen judgeing (guess its the same with lurchers + whippets) bring the dogmen out of the woodwork.

can be the decider for many people especially if 2 shows or events are on at same time.

yes its part of show info,and it should stop alot of calls asking whos judging

I believe it should,as certain judges keep and like certain types.If i have been to a show and the judge has liked dogs that are over then i wouldnt want to travel 100 miles to another show they are judging because it wouldnt be worth the effort.

we dont announce our champion of champion judges because of the money prize the first few years we used to give the judges names and was told by the judges i had picked that they had recieved phone calls offering them half the prize money to pick their dogs ... how sad can you get

yes its sad, but bringin money into it will always create problems, whether that be jealousy or corruption, so id say scrap the money and award somethin huntin related whether that be as happens locators for terrier and say 2 yrs e.d.r.d subscription ect , just think hard cash is always going to create problems .

i agree, money always causes problems, £1000 is a ridiculous amount of money for what amounts to a dog show. best in show at crufts is £100 last i heard (havent been for bout 8yrs so that could have changed)

give a hunting or dog related prize, or even convert that 1000 to a weekend of luxury hunting holiday in europe or something or a fancy dog trailer.

When its a gent or lady judging from the pony background, some of the working people dont turn up and when its a gent or lady from the working background some of the pony people dont turn up. Then the judge finaly turns up and their is still a load of bitchin . Its all part and parcel of the show .
