I couldnt afford a Mark 3 and saw these on ebay the other day so thought i would have a pop at them and i managed to win them at around £44.

 

Heres the description

 

2 x DEBEN LOCATORS

Both worked fine last time I used them. One needs a new dial, both probably need new batteries.

Both locator has had very little use.

Haven’t tested them recently, so being sold as in need of repair, but I’m sure, as mentioned before, they only need new batteries and a dial on the older locator.

They come with two 15ft Terrier collars, both of which need repair, and not sure if they work.

 

The guy then updated ebay saying the newer locator was working fine as he put a battery in it. So i got a fully functioning locator. The one with the damaged dial i will sell on here or ebay as spares and repairs possibly.

 

The two collars he put are in need of repair, could this be an easy thing?

 

I didnt get chance to message the chap as the auction was finnishing.

 

Anyway any thoughts? good deal not so good deal?

as the collars are leather, fingers crossed it may be the leather thats perished, if so, simple cut old collar, leaving a few mm's either side of locator, then sticth or rivet onto new collars

If the collars dont work they never will i dont think they can be repaired there's wires running threw the resin that acts as a reil and these break or if you open the resin up they break and the collars shot . Theres a couple of guys making replacement collars about £40 a pop , And its easy enough to get a replacement wheel some guys are selling brass ones
