mushroom 12,881
Starve it for 24 hours then just give a couple of small rice and boiled chicken meals gradually increasing over then next few days. Remember Plenty of water and if the shits continue after 2 days from this post go to the vet
Attack Fell Terrier 864
My bitch was like that, I wormed her without knowing she had already been wormed by the lad I got her off, her shits were just like you said, watery and jelly like. Sounds just like a upset stomach from something to me, just keep and eye on it.
Guest chook
Give slippery elm bark powder with scrambled eggs and rice or insted of rice mash potato - it helps by coating the guts and can help stop a flare up, it sounds like the pup has colitis, give that for a day or so, then mix everything with its normal food and reduce the egg and ? the slippery elm can be given for longer with its normal food, just stop when the pups right. sandymere 8,263
Sounds very good advice from Mushroom. Usualy a bug in the colon and the jelly is the lining, as Mushroom states, rest the gut (starve, give water only) then small bland feed ie chicken and rice and if not self limiting after 24hours vet. Why would pasta cause colitis?
Malt 379
Sounds like colitis to me, my lurcher had a dose of it as a pup. I had some paste type stuff from the vet that cleared it up, can't remember the name of it now, just.that it had kaolin in it..

Why would pasta cause colitis? I agree and is usually related to a lower gastrointestinal infection. Pasta is known to effect dog's absorption if they have gluten intolerance. Rice is a suitable alternative.

jonesy 111
What sort of bedding you got the dog on?My russell pup had the shites like that took him to the vets as he had started limping from playing with other dogs, kept him in for an xray, leg was okay was told to feed him chicken, pasta for stomach, took him back next week for check up,still runny shite, vet said it might be the pain relief, wasnt happy as he hadnt had any till id took him for the leg, anyway he had a couple of shites with lumps in so i chopped it with shovel it was very fibrous he had been chewing his bedding, old blankets,so i changed it to shavings, after two or three days dog was shiting normal, needless to say i dont use them vets anymore.
