RIP Charlie

Recommended Posts

No sooner than I had got down to the farm last night and I had put some bait out for the foxes it started raining:wallbash: . Not wanting to turn round and drive the 20 mile home straight away I sat patiently in the motor using the NV monocular every few minutes to see if anything was mooching about ........... after two and a half hours of rain and seeing absolutely :censored: all I decided to call it a night. Sods law that after getting 5 mile up the road it stopped raining :wallbash: , so I decided to swing by the chicken farm for a quick drive around and parked up by the filed where I shot three the other night and had a quick scan with the NV but nothing so I gave a quick squeak and I quickly spotted a pair of eyes and after a few more squeaks charlie was in range and down she went :

nice going Dave !!!

the chicken farm again its like a magnet for foxes, hope you are getting FREEEEEEE eggs for all your good work :whistling:

By the way the Fox looks did you use a machine gun :boogie:

Wish I did get some free eggs :wallbash: ! I have a mate who also has some free range chickens and he has been promising me some of his eggs for months but still no joy with him either

No machine gun but it did require a quick second follow up shot to finish her off.

load is a 55 grain v-max over 41 grains h380 which is safe in my 22/250 Tika T3 with harris swivel bipod,T8 moderator and topped with a simmons 3.5-10x50 super night view scope.

Thats quite a punchy little load.... that must be pushing 4000ft/sec and right upto the max pressure? I have been using 36.1gr of N140 with 52gr A-max which seem to be doing alright but I am going to try some 55gr Nosler Ballistic tips on my next batch or reloads.
