PeakOil 352
I remember some idiots setting a few thousand free not far from here must have been about 15 years ago. So many ended up getting run over, trapped, shot etc. The wildlife up on the canal was destroyed and the ones that found their way into the farm where scrawny, bedraggled, injured desperate animals trying to survive in circumstances domestic animals really struggle with. It was probably more cruel setting them all free than them being left on the fur farm!

RicW 67
Bit off topic and I DON'T WANT TO START A ROW WITH THE DOGMEN, OK? If you are killing invasive pests then any humane method is acceptable. But it seems to me that if you are after good pelts then the best tool would be a small centrefire. A .22 Hornet or even a .17 Remington centre fire should make a tiny entrance hole, blow up inside and not exit at all. Sensible comments please guys. This is an honest question. Ric. Ric. thats fair enough if you want pelts, but you could easily trap them and wait on them to die of natural causes if you don't want any holes in them, but i'd rather use dogs

Total prick with animal rights blinkers on These scum don't really care about animals, maybe that's what was at the heart of their organisations when they were first formed, but it's not any more.. They don't agree with people wearing fur or eating meat, so they do things like this purely to spite the people who do. Animal welfare is a secondary concern to them. When I was at school a few of the teachers where active hunt sabs. They turned up at one meet and sprayed hairspray into the faces of the hounds. Same thing.. If they were really the animal lovers they claimed to be, why would they actively seek to cause pain of discomfort to the hounds..?
smithie 2,443
Some daft fecker's realesed a load form a mink farm years back a few miles up stream from the estate where I worked. Within a couple of weeks they'd killed most of the other wildlife on thr river banks for a good couple of miles either way.... Stupid, short sighted, ignorant, dumb-fecks who broke in and let them lose have no idea about the countryside and how it works... Makes my blood boil. Cheers. this happened in elland about 10/12 years ago and they killed all the cats on the farm i worked on.. my boss made me hunt them with sticks.
