, get a discovery it wont get nicked and its the same viehcle with a different shell, and 90's a puller every time, and will get took off you as 90 percent are not legal and you'll lose all your money, you'll get a td5 for price of a 200tdi-300tdi whats been a family 4x4 and never been off roaded, all 90's have been hammered and are over priced and odds on of finding a proper one are very slim

90's are great but expensive, discos are cheaper but watch for rot. a G reg 90 would not be a tdi ( could have had a tdi fitted so check that its done right,,,)and you could be buying a lot of trouble, if your not mechanically minded or wanting to learn i would stay well clear as you have to keep on top of them, saying that they are simple to work on and there are some real good forums with all the info you need.

i have had a 90, few discos and a 110 , 90 was my favourite, 110 most practicle for my uses, disco most comfortable,

unless you want to heavily off road they are all very much the same off road. if you do buy a 90 get it hpi checked before buying , once bought get an immobiliser and a good krook lock.

I've got a 300tdi Disco, and use it for everything. All the dirty cr*p and dog cage goes in the back, and with seat covers on the front seats its still a decent enough motor to use for the school run. It is exactly the same (except the wheelbase) as a 90 or 110 and does the job the same with the right tyres. The only thing is if you are into proper playing in the mud and you kiss a tree or something similar, a dented wing adds a bit of character to a Defender, where it can make a Disco or Classic Range Rover look like a nail.

My wife has got F reg 110 that we paid £600 for a couple of years ago, and dropped a 300tdi Disco engine in. A lot more useful for us than a 90 because you can load it up with fence posts, etc
