OldNog 432
reminds me of when i was struggling to get mine going.....put her in a place where a fox had been run in early in the season. got a mark and could hear her baying, then a bit of scratching around and she would move off but keep coming back to the same place giving a bit of a bay. This carried on for about 10 mins so we dug to where we were getting the mark. Opened up and found her going at a tube far to small for her so we pulled her out and put a smaller older bitch in. This one got on about 2 -3 foot more and made contact. We opened up to find the older bitch hold of the brush of a real small fox up what could only be described as a rat hole! What we suspected mine of doing was getting as far as she could, trying to dig on and then trying to find another way round. If thats what youres was doing, then i personnally think that shows the opposite of lacking drive but showing a bit of brain. Dont forget its still early season and are still some smallish cubs around and she is still young, keep trying her Quote Link to post
Attack Fell Terrier 864
I'd give the bitch a chance mate, it's her first season. As long as she's showing an interest to work and shows improvements each time you take her out I'd give her the chance to prove herself, best of luck. Quote Link to post
Guest busterdog
Both very good answers, i don't think i could add anymore other than you've got your own eyes and ears so make your own mind up, don't let someone else decide the fate of your dog, theres to much macho bullshit and far to many pissing competitions in the terrier game for me. 1 Quote Link to post
