Sweeney-Todd 208
Hiya guy's. Well I finaly got to the range to try out the Napier UPH Pellets. ( Paying for it now ) Against all the normal preperation for changing pellet types in ther rifle, I did not clean the barrel and re lead it before the trial. Niether did I clean between using the two different types. First off I checked zero with the Napier UPH, against my settings for RWS Superdomes, and was not realy supprised, that there was very little if any difference. You can see from the picture, that the Napiers produced a respectable group. I went from Zero at 30yds, straight back to 50yds, to compare how they fly over distance, and was pleased with the results, they were as good as RWS Superdomes. Next I moved back to 60yds, again shot both the Napier UPH, and the RWS Superdomes, again, there was little to seperate the overall performance of both makes of pellet. Picture of groups RWS Superdomes and Napier UPH. ( Click for larger view ) So, I would have no problem at all using the Napier UPH pellets in my rifle insted of, or as well as, the RWS Superdomes. The Napier UPH is a very clean pellet, treated with Napier lube, and the pellets are graded in wieght before they leave the fatory, saving us the job, and being able to use them straight from the tin, knowing you will get good consistancy. Very glad I tried them out ATB. Bill. 1 Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
Good work Bill. Tallies pretty well with my experience with the UPH's. I'm not sure what pellet some of the others have had, I know some of the older Napier pellets were pretty shocking but the UPH's seem to have got it right. Yes, a little more expensive, but they have the lube, and they are cleaned and graded in the factory, so you get a very consistent pellet! Has anyone done any comparitive trials of one pellet with and without the lube? That would be an interesting bit of research! Also be interesting to see if the UPH's are more consistent for speed than the super domes. I use RWS super hollow points, because I find they fly very well at range, but they seem to have a very similar POA to the UPH's! Quote Link to post

Hi Matt Cheer's mate I know what you mean re the earlier Napiers, not good from the Rifle at all, grouping was terrible. I think Napier have a winner on thier hand's with these UPH Pellets. Have tried the Napier lube on the Superdomes, to be honest, not a lot of difference. ATB. Bill. Quote Link to post
