Hi every one

Well the old AAS410K .177 has been playing up! A bit lately. So I decided to take out the regulator which me tinks is fooked! And while I was taking it apart I shot some video footage of how to do it,

Here it is

Emptying the cylinder

Removing the barrel, bolt housing.

Finale part, sorry it wont let me put up to many media files

So I changed the cylinder which had the reg in it, as it has a tiny hole in it. And can only be used in conjunction with a regulator.

I ordered a new one from Adi at A&Mcustomgunsmiths which came Friday as promised.

And I set about changing it today, once it was all done and every thing put back together again. I took it to re-zero it at my home made garden backstop! And to my surprise it was 6 clicks out 3 up and 3 to the right, bang on at 20yds.then I filled up to 160bar and put my Chrono on it, first reading was high so adjustments made and down to 11.72ft/lbs with 8.4grain .177 Air Arms field 4.52. So was well chuffed with what I had achieved today.

Then I decided to take my AAS410K .177 out for a trip, and see if I could accommodate the butcher in chipping Norton. Where I am currently working, I popped in there Friday to have a chat with him. And asked if he would be interested in purchasing some wild rabbits, and his answer was “I have orders, but no rabbits†and he said yes I will be interested in buying some, so we agreed on £2.00 per bunny dressed.

And that’s what I have been up to this evening, I popped over to the business park to have a look around, I was there at 6:45pm and in about 15 minutes I had the first bunny in the bag, I ranged it at 24yds fairly easy shot, the hardest part was getting in to a prone position from a kneeling one. With out it seeing my movements once I had got settled cross hairs on the kill zone THWACK! A small flick of the right leg and then it was motionless in about 3 seconds. So was really pleased with the shot and the fact that the AAS410K was in pieces in my shed 2 hours earlier.

Another 2 bunnies came out after but they clocked me as I moved my knee to get a bit closer, I lent on a dry twig CRACK!! And they were gone! So I thought I would go have a look around up the top part of the park, as im driving round I spotted 2 bunnies on the bank side by the paper waste bins, so I pulled up in the parking bay a few units down and got my guntuff range finder out ping! 40yds came the reading back, so still on the cross hairs no need to lamp it as the security light was giving me enough lite any way. Rested the rifle on the passenger seat THWACK!! Down it went with a little roll down the bank.

Then I went up in to the paddock which is adjacent to the b/park, got my self over an old wooden fence, and in to the paddock a quick flick of the lamp. and there was six bunny’s out 3 / 4 in range from 35 yds to 65yds.i had one directly to my left 9:oclock another at 11:oclock and the 45yd + one at 12:oclock, down on one knee cross hair on the bunny to my left THWACK!!! Down it goes a swing to 11oclock 0.5 mildot hold over THWACK!!! Over it went; up I got took ten paces back down in a prone position bipod out 1 mildot hold over on 12oclock bunny THWACK!!!! Done the follow through, and see it leap out from the hedge row from where it was heading and land stone dead 3 shots all in the kill zone .now this did make my evening, not only did the AAS410K .177 perform like a dream .5 bunnies makes me £10.00 well worth all the effort and the few hours I was out, and they have been gutted and skinned and in the cool box by 9:30pm

Ready for the butcher Monday morning!

Sorry no pics of where they fell, my new phone galaxy S has no flash! DOH!!!

Nice going Davy :clapper:

Nowt like seeing results as sweet as those after a little surgery in the shed :gunsmilie:

Must admit, it does seem a long way around to change the cylinder though. To change mine all I have to do it remove the silencer and unscrew the cylinder and slide it out of the stock. Like the HW100.

Still nive to know I have a S410 Surgen to guide me when I eventually get me one of those :notworthy:

very handy that mite just wich you put it up two weeks ago as mine is in the shop getting fixed. and he still ant got the parts yet.... and nice shooting.

thanks andy.
