hi guys just wondered if anyone has any views on a first lurcher for the son,hes been bugging me for months,im wanting to give it him for xmas,

iv always had collie xs,but im thinking there to big for him,a small whippit type would be good ,a beddy maybe just for rabbit, and maybe help me clear a few of the roaming dogs on some permossion i have,

just dont know!!

your thoughts would be apricated and if anyone will be dropping a litter around mid novermber so ready for xmas i would love to know,,cheers

i had a saluki x grey a while ago and it was crazy i had more vet bills from running through fances than a little..lol

not me mate am not runnin note at the min but both these crosses should be sound for what you lookin for, not to big and will do your lad just fine one the bunnys

Collie whippet or pure whippet i had a whippet bitch when i was 12 caught hundreds of rabbits and long ears were also a regular occurance was devistated when i lost her always had a whippet in my kennel since that day. Yould get something sorted for him im sure.

just remember your son might be small but he will grow up too and ya will have a lurcher for 10 years maybe?

id recommend a handy size like a whippet hound or even a collie hound?

I'm in the exact same position and i've decided on beddy whippet i had the boy out for his first hunting trip on saturday night and he's hooked

its great aint it mate my lad is on it now, got him a gas gun ,,he gets all cammoed up then hes off lol
