lawyer daggett 0
I am thinking about purchasing a Sabatti Kipplauf, does anyone have any experience with Sabatti rifles or shotguns?. These are not normally imported into Australia so I cannot make enquiries here. As I particularly want this style of european hunting rifle, please no suggestions about other types of single shot. I already own a TC Contender with 22/223 /30-30 Ackley Imp calibres and am not interested in a pooly finished but functional firearm like the Baikal 18 or a different style single shot like the Ruger 1 & 3. Suggestions of other types of Kipplauf of similar price to the Sabatti are most welcome. What is the fit, finish and quality of the Sabatti like? What is extraction like? Here I would particularly like to hear from shooters with experience of non rimmed calibres. I am thinking about a 7x57R, but if non rimmed calibres extract well, would consider alternatives. Thank you in anticipation, Quote Link to post
danebrewer10 6
huh, an interesting post, shame noone else is! I personally really like single shots, I don't own one, but they do look great, you might want to look at Merkel, Krieghoff, and Blaser, not cheap by any means, but they do look the business, as for extraction? I can't see anything being a problem, seeing as it is effectively a shell lifter found in non ejector shotguns...... Quote Link to post
RicW 67
I Googled Sabatti to have a look. No gen on the single-shots, but a review in Shooting Times of the 4-shot rated it highly. Apparently sold as "value for money", they said it was well built, nothing flash but far more than cheap'n'cheerful. 1*MOA at 100 yds with factory ammo, Sub 1/2*MOA with handloads. Sweet handling in the field. The S/S ought to be more accurate still. That was a .308. Ric Edited October 4, 2010 by RicW Quote Link to post
