hw100sniper 2
After doing the rounds of a few farms and not being able to get a shot at charlie we were starting to think it was going to be 1 of they nights. On arriving at another farm I had a quick scan with the lamp and immediatly picked up a set of eyes that said fox but the height of the ground wasnt right (it was 6 feet tall)a quick look with the binos confirmed it was a fox sitting on the boundary wall off an old ruin.We drove round the field and gave a small squeak and there was her mouching about .I took aim at centre chest as her head was moving constantly but just as I was pulling the trigger she moved so the bullet hit just inside her leg ,after a back flip she tried to make her way away from us and I had to shoot her while running. Nothing else showed here so we went off to another farm and again as soon as I lamped there was 1 sitting ,it was to far out for a shot and he wouldnt squeak in so we tried driving closer in the hope that it wouldnt bolt and like a good boy he stayed ,lined him up in the sights and took a head shot which dropped him straight away ,then just as we were moving of to get him he started twitching so I put another 1 in him just to be on the safe side. He was a real fat dog fox the heaviest ive seen for a while ,he wont be stealing any more chickens of the farm.(heres another pic of him just to try and show the size of him) Quote Link to post
dave1372 83
Good going Billy ! Both nice sized foxes .... maybe you could have taken a photo of them with your rifle lying across them and used a soft focus to make the photos more respectful for danebrewer10 :whistling: Quote Link to post

hw100sniper 2
Maybe I didnt word it right poacher .I wondered if the householders thought they had a pet fox as it didnt look as if it could chase a rabbit or mouse.Ive seen at first hand another fox being fed on the road uo to 1 of our permissions she stands there about 9 most nights rattling a bowl waiting for it to come for its food.
