haha, im going to have to learn how to decode all these messages on thl, the anti's and police will have a right old challenge trying to understand what all these words mean and what the hell ur all talking about....... :whistling: , e.g.............."toothed", "fast", i dont get half of the threads on this site any more lol

think il give it a go, wentt "light bulbing"" other night, managed to put 7 "fast, white tail thimper feet", 2 "red toothed bushy tails", and even dropped on a "black & white hard b*****d"....................all managed to fit in the "asda" bag

Thankyou FH - Maybe Dotty Doo can have a look at this and still tell us all that all whippets are shit for lamping!

do you actually own a whippet????

Your opinion was that each and every whippet was shit on the lamp. It's like saying each and every bull cross cant retrieve and munches their catch, every saluki is a plodding piece of shit etc. Generalisations are for idiots. I wasn't arguing that they would be better than 'a purpose bred lamp dog' (which is what exactly - surely lamp dogs come in all shapes, sizes and cross?), just that the idea that they couldnt handle a full night lamping several nights a week or were too small to see the rabbits  This is obviously bullshit as there are plenty of people who manage to do what you say is impossible with their whippets. Now as far as i'm aware your opinion is based upon seeing one dog that you owned and found lacking, which obviously means that every other dog owned nationwide from that breed is exactly the same. Gimmie a break, there is a good and bad in every breed and cross. And yes i DO own a whippet as do a number of my friends, they use them on the lamp, ferreting, bushing . . . . . anything and they do well on a range of quarry. This is the same as the argument in which folk denied that pre-ban a beddy whippet could easily take multiple fallow a night multiple nights a week. Soon proved wrong were they not.

I don't contend that EVERY whippet will make a great lamp dog, just that some will and some wont, which i think is a more plausible and realistic answer than 'they are all shite'. You also have to take in the fact that we all hunt different kinds of land and have different personalities, so what will suit some well in some areas would not work for another. Your own personal experience is not necessarily the 'truth'.
