Hi Markha,

 

No mate I only have 26 months left in the army now so Im happy to just motor on where i am and then make the move to civi street.

 

Got to find a job etc but dont know what to do.

 

Regarding the SA80, Im not too bad with it mate.

 

I won the best shot in Bosnia (Lujbia ranges)against some Czech special forces and some of the Brit guys that attended, and i won a competition in Germany against other marksman from the Brigade a few years back, but since then Ive not shot seriously at all with the SA80, concentrating more on my air rifle shooting.

 

The adventure training idea is good though pal and ill have to have a look at it.

Good stuff mate on the shooting comp', Did some stuff at manjarca ranges pre deployment ops for hertzi in late very late 90's.

 

Theres plenty of work as AT instructors all over UK if you can get training credits for career change, get on to jsml scheme, climb, kayak, mountain bike, ski in Norway every year, get a good posting at tri services at HMS Indefatiguable, Anglesey, or even Llanrwst, Capel is OK - but its RA and you know what a bunch of money pinching tsrs they are , Scotland even better. Plus you get to work with the lads on decompression as they come through, give them a helping hand and to switch off from effects of being in the theatre.

 

Well worth a look into, got to better than being a bricky,plumber,sparky etc?

Medic? get trained up and then work as agency/bank medic in UK £200 - £250 per day a couple of days aweek, hell its almost like being retired in that job!hahaha

 

Or PMC stuff? I have some very good contacts, not bullshit work that never appears.

Or for the sweet life get attached as PSI in TA for a bit, nice way to not wear a watch for a while

Police, coastguard... MOD.JOBS hahahaha spend your life static security on industrial estates waiting for the gold watch, sorry a bit cynical with that one.

 

It can be a tough call what to do after demob, most my mates are now either medics, medic instructors, bodyguards - proper ones in nasty places, UKSF group are getting through subcontract medics via Exmeds Hereford as they are in short demand in the Brit Forces full stop,,,,,oh yea and then theres British Military Fitness Company, they employ serving or Ex forces as fitness instructors all over the UK, very big company, they do all that fitness in the park stuff, a good bunch,know the directors personally if you want some work.

 

Anyway mate, your a grown bloke, Im sure you'll come up with a plan, but if ever you want to bounce ideas just drop me a line.
