pongopalmer 19
out walking with wife and young dog one night on local playing field wich has woods on one side and a golf course on the other. as we were walking the dog noticed somthing behind us i flashed my tourch to see what it was and there was a set of eyes looking back at me told the wife it was a fox she told me to get the dog on the lead as she didnt like me to hunt fox, defenitly when she was there with me but to late the dog had seen it and was off after the fox . the fox had to much of a head start and the dog lost it as it hit the woods, i called the dog back put it on the lead and we walked on we went thew a small wood and on to the golf course, a couple of hundred meteres into the golf course i shone the light behind us again f##k me there was the fox again shone the tourch on it 4 about 5 mins the wife by this time was geting paranoid about getting followd by a wild animal and was quite happy 4 me to slip the dog, by this time of he went but stumbled in a bunker and again lost the fox in the woods. dog came back and we sat down on a bench 4 a smoke and a drink put tourch on and there at the side of the golf course was the FOX again as we walked of the golf course the fox folowed keeping just enough distance to be safe from the dog, we got into a big open flat field i was hoping the fox was going to keep folowing so i could slip the dog again but it never. has any 1 ever had a fox follow them or ever even seen a fox again after it had been chased bye a dog.
CarraghsGem 92
i read something once about foxes before the ban that used to play games with fox-hunts teaseing the hounds but still crafty enough to stay out of reach, dont know how true that is but maybe the fox was playing the same game with you? dillan 19
Once sat down on a grass bank taking a break whilst I watched my terriers bushing in the bramble patches on the side of a railway embankment, after about 5 mins I happened to look behind me and there was a fox sat behind me about 20 yards away watching me watching my terriers at work, it sat there a good few mins before it decided to move on. oakey 57
It could be if your dog is a bitch it's about to come into season ,although it's a myth about foxes mating with dogs it may have found some attraction .

FightTheBan 1,147
There's an earth that I've done for a couple of years now that has an old dead tree that comes from the ground up to the tree canopy that basically overhangs the set about 5ft in the air. Last year there was a fox that sat on the dead tree and almost every time without fail it would be there and would slink off as you approached. It was such a good vantage point, it didn't matter what direction you came from it would always see you(and never go to ground). One day, however, its luck ran out and we managed to run it into a gorse patch that has an old rabbit warren in it. Fox went to ground and we dug it with my bitch, after sinking a couple of holes as it was so bastardin tight. When it came to the end, I didn't kill it as it was such a wee character and deserved to live another season. Hopefully we will meet again this year. FTB
