Have you told the vet the treatment hasn't worked? Perhaps they can give you something else. A vet did wrongly diagnose ringworm on one of my cats once, it turned out to be an allergy, but if it's just one patch on your dog it probably is ringworm.

MuttleMcTuttle 21
Ringworm can be a bugger to get rid of because the spores hang on clothing and beds etc for months so it can keep coming back... A cream like canestan is quite effective, and try and keep the pup's environment as clean as you can. Ringworm is often self-limiting, tending to affect the more vulnerable animals, like pups, or entering the system through cuts and scratches or nail beds, so hopefully in a few months your pups immune system will be able to deal with it. Ivermectin may indeed kill everything, including your dog if you get the dose wrong or it's one of the breeds that are very sensitive to it...
Attack Fell Terrier 864
The Vet's told me my dog had it, I told them it wasn't ring worm because me and the kids would have it, they insisted it was and gave me some Ivermec, I didn't use it but changed the dogs food and he was fine.
