david2363 42
I've been reading through all my old Plummer books recently (think what you like about the guy but his books are very readable - especially Rat hunting man ) and I was trying to remember the name of a book I read in my teens called "A sporting chance" by a guy called Dan Mannix?? (I think). It contained stories of hunting Bears and Coyotes with dogs, and even had a chapter on an English Badger dig. Has anyone read this book? and I wonder is it still available today? david2363 42
Could you imagine kids these days chucking the boomerang shaped bits off their bunk beds at ducks down the local park - surefire ASBO.
mackem 26,264
I have the mailing addie of the french importers into europe of COLDSTEELS bigbore blowguns, they sell a range of darts including mini-broadheads,I was going to order my son one for Xmas when I found out that yes indeed, they are now classed as firearms My old one killed rats at ranges of up to 8-10 yards easily enough, and I have seen bamboo ones used in Borneo which were effective at longer distances, but the bamboo darts were approx 8-10 inches long Could you imagine kids these days chucking the boomerang shaped bits off their bunk beds at ducks down the local park - surefire ASBO. No one bothered back then David,I still remember walking past Hector Mouldens garden as a kid when he told me to get my BSA meteor from its slip and pot a starling from his television arial
