Yorkshire Tyke 12
When i brought home my deerhound cross my brindle bitch who is normally very placid took a instant dislike when the pup came near. Snarling fur up and lunging got me a bit confused and worried my little Russell who will pick a fight with any size of dog was the total opposite very patient and not to impressed with Bonny's temperament and let her know it in typical Russell fashion. so kept the pup away when unsupervised. After about a week she seamed to calm down then out of the blue she attacked the pup luckily only a minor wound so i span her on her back and brought the pup over to her .She snarled once a clip and a Stern Ssssh and she stopped this happen twice more and did the same thing now best kennel buddies now the pup stands at 26.5" bonny is only 23" and the poor girl gets knocked all over when playing so maybe she though better put this pup in place now:laugh: hope it sorts itself out mate. fresh earth 47
If out walking and play fighting let them get on with it kennel situation is totaly diff. I never keep terriers in same sex pairs no matter what i also match dogs with who they best get on with. Any that im unsure about are kenneled alone although never had this bother as my dogs are kept in a pack style my older whip is always on top of pups and im obviously pack leader so when need be i step in asert my authority but always make sure the pup knows i back the bitch pups respect each other better and rarely need a telling. Attack Fell Terrier 864
Sounds like rough fighting to me which isn't a problem but keep an eye on them. Leave them too it when you are there, if you've got to go out to work or what ever separate them. If it gets out of hand step in and show the pair of them you're not going to tolerate it.
