FlyMyGirl 147
Hi I have a 24inch dog who at the minute is a little to fast and powerful for his own good, seems to think the faster he runs and the harder he hits his quarry the better!!!( which it isnt when he ends up head over tail) Hopefully he will learn to chill out a little as he has no problem with catching up to things. On the other hand a have his mum who is just under 22inch and has a heart like a lion and does pretty much anything I ask of her and deffinately makes up for her size and speed with determination. As people have said its not so much the size of the dog but the size of there heart. 1 Quote Link to post

predatorman 54
i look for around 22 to 24 tts, purely because i like a shorter coupled dog for tighter turning which slows the race down allowing the quarry to be worked tighter. the dog needs early pace though to engage the race, good dogs can shift up and down the gears to make it look easy. i've seen on many occasions leverets make taller dogs look like ten bobs worth because they simply were'nt agile enough to pick them up! Butler 396
What so you just keep buying dogs and passing the old ones on when you ser somthing you think is better, what a tail. No i take the time to find a stud or a bitch that think will best suit the dog/bitch i want to breed from. Then I/We have a well bred litter keep pups back and place the others in good working homes usually FREE. Then put two years of blood sweat and a hell of alot of fuel putting game in front of our prospects. To see what we have and if it has been a good mating enjoy them while they last as a working dogs life isn't always a long one But if they turn out to be below par the right thing is done and we move on and start again. If that makes me a tail the so be it. Quote Link to post

So you saying the bitch you got now is no good and the right thing will be done with her. She isn't any world beater that's for sure but she isn't a cull either. She will do me i may even breed from her in the future but that is a long way off if ever. Quote Link to post
