CZ 452 22lr review & zero plus POI check

Recommended Posts

Sometimes it can be hard for someone who is getting or has just got there first FAC ticket & looking for info for a first rifle.

I've had my CZ 452 22lr for a few years now.

Chopped it from 21" to 14", no loss of accuracy.

Removed the rear sight & fitted low mounts so my face is closer to the stock as intended with rifles supplied with open sights.

Replaced the trigger for a Timney, uprated the fireing pin spring, removed a little bit of wood from the stock & reoiled it.

Bodged a rubber butt pad on & It's not a good fit but does me better than the original plastic one.

Zero at 65yds with Eley subs.

Doing a POI check at ranges out to 100yds I've noted the different mildots.

The rise from the first zero then drop to the second zero clearly seen.

Then the POI drops like a lead balloon towards 100yds.

Had a shoot out to 136yds just for fun.

Looking for info about a good Rabbiting rifle or just want to see what a difference a tweek can do to a std rifle.

Excellent post - thank you.

I have the same rifle with a Brooks trigger kit. Had mine cut down to 16" with no loss of accuracy. I use a Parker Halew silencer which is old but excellent.Eley subs suit mine much better than Winchesters.

I have mine zeroed for 60 yards but may change as per yours in view of the fact that I use my Weihrauch KT100 .22 air rifle happily out to 50yds.

Cheers

Aye

Good post. I have the synthetic stock version which I am super happy with, Tasco World class (Jap)and am using remington subs. Well impressed, zero at 60mtrs.

I am interested in an uprated pin spring as I have had a few mis strikes,(light strike ?)

What spring are you using ?? Also fancy a new trigger (after using my Daystate Air rainger ,all other triggers seem crap) Any recommendations
