cubs

Recommended Posts

Talking to a mate of mine,he was out last weekend and put the terrier to ground. The dog is a well proven animal with many digs under his belt so to speak. This dog is an up and on full contact kind of dog so after 40 minutes of moving all over the place my mate was a little bewildered. He settled in one spot and they dug an easy hole to find him 2 feet from a cub no bigger than a rabbit. He was stunned and released it into the woods to run on.After checking the dog his front pads on his feet are shreded from diging up to the cub.The ground is like flint still and way too humid for anything deeper than a fast dig.The dog is ruined now for the next few weeks but finding a cub this late was not expected.Your thought on this please if you have any?

That's a right kick in the stones!!

He may keep on top of those feet, and watch out for infection or it'll be longer than a few weeks

Seasons are fvcked up anyway, rabbits were breeding nearly year round last year as it was mild

we get a a few vixens round are way that are tiny ,you would think they was a cub if the teeth never told a different story .thats why we keep a couple of tiny pats for these ocasions ,as a normal sized dog can take all day to get them bottled up . dogs done well to get to that if its feet were as bad as you said

id say its a fair sign the weather/seasons are gone f****d up entirely.rabbits have gone practically extinct (excepting 1 place) around where im from.Ive seen enough weird shit from nature in the last 2 or 3 years to know that somethings up.
