the ratcatcher 1
after many years of taking part and watching different field sports, how many of you give the quarry the credit they deserve. ive read some posts on here of dogs getting injured due to following there prey. one on here now dog chasing a rabbit, caught the rabbit but come back cut on barbed wire. now this to me isnt the owners fault, someone says he should of known the grounds he was working. but ive been out myself ferreted land, sometimes without nets just to see which way the rabbits run, then gone back with the dog expecting the rabbit to run straight acroos the field like they have before, but no the rabbit jumped, then spun around and headed straight to the nearest fence and hedge. ive seen dogs chasing a rabbit when another rabbit as ran straight across there path, then another rabbit do exactly the same thing and this went on till the dogs were so confused and worn out. i know after that the ground was only ever shot and ferreted Quote Link to post
