what twine is best

i now can make a net but was just using jute twine so i could get to grips with the weaving lol i have liiked at some and was wondering who uses the spun polyester and if you dont what would you reccomend all answers welcome thanks

Good idea with the jute ,mate, nice one

I've used spun poly and find it OK, nice to tie with and to use .

If you're making your own nets you can afford the best so go for a reputable supplier (Agouti or Torchy)both are very reasonable . Don't be tempted with the bottom end of the market stuff it's crap, it's well worth spending an extra couple of quid a spool on decent gear .

hi i get all my net making gear from bridport net, a good book to get is call net making for sport can,t remember the autor but all you need to know about making nets, i just enjoy making nets my grand father taught me he use to make nets for the fishing industry in brixham can still see him now out the back yard breeding nets fag in mouth have a look at bridport nets i use them all the time and found very good on price/ quaility and delivery i just make nets for a hobby why her in doors watches all the soaps (crap)

being making nets for years but new to here spun nylon seems to be the best / most used don,t need drying unlike hemp

hemp is the best to work with but tends to rott after a while and needs drying after every outing

nylon cheap but hard on hands when making and hard to use in the field (tangles easly) but last time

as for rings stainless steel is best but chrome steel a close second
