rabbiting priest

Recommended Posts

Like and civilized ferreter I do, his name is Jeff and he's pretty handy, the rabbits do seem to taste better after having their last rites. I found him hanging about my local primary school. I did try using a Rabbi for a while but he kept tangling the nets. . . . not very kosher at all.

I keep a priest in the bag as a "just in case the rabbit's completely tangled up that I can't stretch it."

However, I've never needed to use it. Incidentally, it's holly which is very slow growing and therefore more dense and if I remember correctly, I think it may have been the bottom end of a walking stick I cut near Sticklepath in Devon.

The only reason i use a priest is when i'm ferreting alone and a large number of rabbits are hitting the nets, i pull the net, whack the rabbit and throw it back still in the net, setting another. Saves the seconds it takes to pull them out and stretch them.
