found lurcher

Recommended Posts

I found an old lurcher today maybe about ten years old it was totally emaciated its nails where so long it was starting to have trouble walking and worst of all some dirty fecker had tied its mouth shut. I took it to the local rescue centre who said they would give it 7 days before they would re home him I’m thinking about going back for the old boy and let him live out his last few years in luxury but three maybe one too many.

Oh, bless him....that's horrific.

bad news i know but rather you than me mate, could end up costing you a small fortune for medication to get it right, maybe even for the rest of its life,as you say you have two already, this one that you have no history on what so ever may just be to much to take on nothing says its just going to fit right in,jmo but if you do then fair play just don't let your head rule your heart or whatever the saying is, and after all the rescue centre will try and re-home it, if and when it is in a condition to do so

personally i would go get him mate, yeah it could be expensive but after all he has been through he deserves a decent dog man who will care for him properly for the remainder of his days

yeah f**k it mate just go and get it,what was i thinking obviously taking in an old stray is the making of a "decent dog man",never thought of it like that.........what utter shite

Go and get him mate - usually if they come from an 'unknown' source they get pts after 7 days (at least in some places. . . . i.e ARSEpca). If you have the ability do it, or take it until you can put him with a friend in a nice pet home. If you don't do it you will probably always wonder . . . .

I found a really old terrier a few years ago, she was also in a state. We contacted all the authorities etc and got told that they were at bursting point with stray dogs and the freezers were full!(was new years eve when we found her).

Anyway nobody claimed her..so we took full responsibility, she only lasted another year before she had to be put to sleep. All i can say is it really was worth every second giving the old girl some love. You won't regret it.
